I think it was T Boone Pickens that said quite some time ago, any country that was wholly & utterly dependent on imports left itself wide open to be exploited i.e oil & gas but that argument can be applied to allot of other necessities, essentials & commodities "Look at the prices on your supermarket sweep" Dale Winton & his contestants would be hard pushed to keep abreast of current fluctuation when they total up at the tills. I'm not just taking about rice or tea either. Subsequently the change applied by the legendary oil & gas entrepreneur who changed tact quite some time ago, who's become a Jollier Than Green Giant & a surprising environmentalist.
Throughout his life, T. Boone Pickens has always followed his own path.

Named one of the world's 100 most influential people by Time magazine in 2009, Pickens has warned the country could very well be spending $10 trillion on foreign oil within a decade, gaining the ear and imagination of both bi-partisan political support and the public at large. More than 1.6 million people have enlisted in his Pickens Army, and the campaign is encouraging an outpouring of fresh ideas and a new generation of Americans to become involved in the policy process. Pickens travels the nation sharing with audiences his urgent plea to lessen our dependence on fossil fuels, invest in alternative energy and look for other ways to enhance U.S. energy security and stability.
