Show Me The Ethics The Values & The Benefits. Oh, ho, ho, spell it out E..T..H..I..C..S Ethics!!! doesn't that make you feel good just to say that, say it with me one time. Show you the Ethics Oh, no, no you can do better than that, I want you to say it with meaning brothers sister. I've I got Dalai Lama on the line I better hear you say it, yeah, yeah, no, no show you the Ethics. Not show you, show me the Ethics, yeah, louder!!! Show me the Ethics, that's It brothers sisters but you gotta yell, show me the Ethics, I need to feel you, show me the Ethics, you better yell, show me the Ethics, show me the Ethics, show me the Ethics, show me the Ethics, show me the Ethics do you love your Banker, I love the Banker, show me the Ethics, I love Bankers what you gonna do? Uh congratulations your still my Banker!
Not all Bankers are bad, I personally bank with the Co-operative Bank on a personal basis and a commercial level as well. They've been recognised and awarded many times over, during the chaos, carnage and havoc periods of the the global financial melt down. Perhaps, prudence, caution and conservatism in banking does still exist? Whilst many others during these periods have obtained less than favourable press releases, certainly no peoples awards by the people for the people or should I say extremely bad press! I don't subscribe to the adage of any press is good press. The Co-operative have been progressive, whilst others have been "Battening Down Their Hatches." Perhaps 2012 is the rebirth of another revolution, rekindling the values and principles of the Co-operative Group or were they also a movement in 1844, perhaps? For it takes allot to change public perception and consensus which finally leads to universal agreement, for necessary change. Sadly even change beneficial to humanity, now as the ethics, values and benefits of principles far and beyond monetary values reappear. Quite astonishingly when the facts and evidence are all so evident and visible also, climate change, cyclical or man made is not the debate but rather depleting finite natural resources. The QU & ARK Movement have been continually promoting and advocating these changes for quite some time and it should be about protecting land with the depleting, plus exhausted habitats with the protection of that natural resource. It should also be about politicians, locally, nationally and internationally with their responsibility and stewardship or rather the neglect of that responsibility. It should most certainly be about beliefs also, what ever your beliefs and religious denomination. Sadly blood is being spilt, maybe not on our shores but on far flung shores for diminishing finite natural resources.
"Therefore, the Lord God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden and placed a flaming sword to protect the tree of life." Genesis 3.24 On this occasion it would seem that we do not need the Lord God's help as we are banishing ourselves from all Gardens of Eden. The pen is mightier than the sword and perhaps a flaming pen needs to be petitioned by more of us, pun intended. For if we don't, we may live to regret it and I do believe we already are regretting previous generations inaction's. Unless we're all blind or deaf even dumb to cyclical events? or man made global warming? as the jury's constantly out, even with evidence suggesting either or even both but again I reiterate the real argument is diminishing and depleting finite natural resource. That's the real crime, should we allow it to continue unchallenged, I don't think so! Some say, that mankind has consumed 50% of our finite resources in 100 years, do the maths. No wonder Stephen Hawkins Theoretical Physicist and Cosmologist is suggesting our only chance of survival is to spread out into space. Therefore perhaps our children won't live to regret our mistakes for being yet another generation that never acted!
KISS "Keep It Simple Stupid." philosophy and ideology. As people, money people individuals of a high net-worth are starting to finally get it. Ordinary people with not so much money are finally starting to get it, all quite relative. A penny to somebody who only has a pound is allot of money. However someone who has billions even millions can make a more surmountable contribution but the commitment and the contribution is just the same. Control the source i.e. control the money and you control the outcome, as we've all sadly witnessed via the Not So Ethical Banks but don't forget it's your money. So if you want to be part of a movement or a sophisticated automated system which you control and you have your say. It's simple, get involved, contribute, donate, care and share the opportunity to create change and be part of the difference that will change the World. For I am crazy enough to believe we can achieve a balance and equilibrium that has eluded us, not just for decades but centuries. Just remember the "Bigger Picture" only requires pledges, why would we want to risk £1M pledges when the biggest ethical duck that has eluded us and avoided confrontation with our philosophy and ideology is the political will and determination to make totally self sufficient and sustainable communities from newtech, cleantech and renewables reality.
